Brambles.

When my best friend Peter Galgani was getting ready to put out his first single - I was honored to be asked to do the cover artwork.

Buffalo Flowers.

To make up this image I started with the strongest tool on my tool belt - my scanner. Since I can’t draw I decided to make this as a mixed media piece and began digging into old books and fabric from around the house. Once I found the buffalo - which is an indelible symbol of the old west to me - I knew I had found my base. I pulled the floral patterns from embroidered handkerchiefs.

Nuclear Cowboys.

A spaghetti Western evokes a very specific period in time for me and I felt that in order to harness that time I needed to put it in the microwave. This is what came out, a nuclear era cowboy riding split atoms into the ever evolving fallout. I used a plaid fabric to create a warped color way across the entire plane. Once I had the background I found my subject - these fashionable cowboys - who were found on a sewing pattern cover. I added the small vector to help give the whole thing a bit of motion as well as a natural focal point.
